Blake turns 5!!

So I feel like a slacker that I never did a blog post on Blake's 5th birthday, but I put a tribute to him on FB and forgot to do it on here.  :( So here it is.... better late than never!

I cannot imagine my life without this boy!  I never ever dreamed I would have wanted a red head little boy but God knew what a blessing he would be.  He is persistent, caring, smart, funny, and mischievous!! There are so many days I want to stop him for growing up so fast.... and he literally is growing up fast.... I fear he will soon be bigger than Caden :)

My 5 year old!!

For pictures from his birthday celebration in Florida with family you can check out his album on Shutterfly.  We don't often get to celebrate with extended family so it was nice to have lunch with grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and great aunts, cousins, and second and third cousins!!

We love you Blake!!

"Vacation"

So our "vacation" this summer was a long weekend in FL over the 4th of July.  We had really been looking forward to it being low key and just doing some of the things we miss like canoeing and swimming in the Chipola River.  Both of those things were done so I guess it was a success.  There are way too many pictures to post on here so once again I made an album from our time there.

We were able to canoe Spring Creek (one of our favorites). Jason, his dad, and the boys spent a day on the Chipola River swimming and fishing while Jason's mom and I went shopping for Blake and my nephew's birthday.  Then we had an unplanned trip to St Andrew's State park. I hadn't been there since I was probably in Middle School and Jason had never been.  It was totally worth it and we had a great time snorkeling and swimming.

Caden

So as you can see I am playing catch up on here:)  The last several posts are actually from the middle of June:) I am trying to get where I can share some from our time in FL over the 4th of July.

I took Blake to a birthday party and Jason had one on one time with Caden.  He took him fishing for a little while and it was too hot and the fish weren't biting so they ended up at the pool:) I thought this was a cute picture...

So with the warmer temps Caden was looking too hot with "longer" hair and it wasn't even as long as it was when we moved here.  He wanted it shorter and spikey:) So we got a recommendation of somewhere to take him and I am very pleased with how she did.  It changes his look so much.  He was super proud of it too!!

A New Museum in Savannah

When we lived in TN we had a lot of children's museums or places we could take the kids to play and I miss that.  Savannah just opened a Children's Museum and we were able to check it out for free with our Railroad Museum passes.  It is a very neat place and concept.  The only downfall is it is all outside and here in South GA it is just too hot!!!  The day we went was a very pleasant day and there are a lot of areas that are shaded.  I look forward to going back and seeing how they expand it. They have plans for an inside section as well.

This is an area where they can build things with these giant foam blocks.....

Here is a dress up area.....

They had a reading area with bean bags and lots of books.... this was a cool little area!

The slide coming down from the upper area where you come in...

A view from the upper outside area looking down onto a wooden maze...

There are some other pictures in an album here if you want to check them out.  It was a great day as a family.  I just wish it would cool off a bit so we could go back:) If you are in the area you should check it out!

Domestic Duties

Several Saturday's ago Jason got the boys in on helping clean the house.  I am sure this looks like cruel child labor below but hey I get pretty tired of cleaning up their pee :) So, I kind of liked this idea and they actually laughed the whole time they were doing it!

Here they area helping unload the dishwasher.....  I could get used to this :)

Wild and Reunited

Jason and I had our 14 year wedding anniversary on June 13th!! Thanks to grandparents we had a lot of time to just enjoy each other and have dinners out and a night away in Charleston. It took a day or two to figure out how to act without kids around and then we adapted :) We really missed our boys though!!  It isn't the same without them around.  It is nice to know that Jason and I still enjoy it just being the two of us but it is also nice to know that it doesn't have to be and that we have been blessed with these two boys!!

Our friends the Stewart's offered to take us to Wild Adventures with some free tickets they had with their passes so we arranged that with getting the boys back.  It is about the halfway point that we would meet grandparents so it worked out.  So we celebrated our actual anniversary with each other, our boys, and some great friends.  It was a great day to be at the park.

Our boys haven't been to an amusement park or water park of any kind so it was all new to them.  They had a blast!  It is great they aren't really scared of the rides and it is great their daddy likes roller coasters too because mommy cannot handle them :( When I was younger I was actually scared of them but now I am not scared of them I just get so sick feeling.

It was the perfect way to spend our anniversary!  It was so nice to be able to hang out with Josh and Becky and their kids.  So glad they thought of us:)!! I put some of the pictures we took in an album here.

We are also very glad to have our boys back home and we are ready to enjoy the rest of the summer!!

Woo Hoo.... I was able to get both videos to upload :) The kids enjoyed this ride and the lady running it was funny.  She did a great job encouraging them so you may want to turn the volume down a bit before listening!!
