Randomness....and update on Alex

Hey everyone,  Still do not have a working desk top so no access to pictures.  Our camera is filling up!  We had a good Thanksgiving in FL visiting friends and family.  I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving too.  Since we got back home I have been busy unpacking and decorating for Christmas.  Such a different feel this year.  This will be our first Christmas to wake up in our own home (in 11 years of marriage).  I am sure it will bring some mixed feelings but it will be nice to start some traditions that hopefully our kids will remember and enjoy (of course if tonight is any example, I wonder who I am doing all this for).  We put up the tree last night and as we were setting it up the boys were running around, racing cars, climbing in the box, etc etc.  Then I also got them the Little People Navtivity and we opened it yesterday....Caden proceeded to have Mary and one of the Wise Men fight and Mary went flying.  THEN today I helped them make an "Advent" paper chain of sorts.  I had gotten Christmas stickers and stamps for them to decorate the chain links.  Well....ended up Caden only wanted to decorate the #1 link because it was Red....he didn't want to decorate the green ones.  When it was all said and done Jason and I ended up putting the stickers on and they did help staple it (some).  We also started the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition.  We have had the book since Caden was a baby but this is the first year we have used it.  Caden gets it to some extent but Blake doesn't totally get it.  I reminded Caden of the Elf when I was dropping him at the gym and explained that he needed to play nicely with Blake (they sometimes will show their brotherly love while I am exercising).  When I was picking them up the lady told me that Blake kept trying to pester Caden (yes that is how it works these days a lot) and that Caden reminded Blake that "Toby" the elf would find out.

Enough on that....

I also wanted to pass on a site that has been set up to update everyone on Alex and his status.  They have sent a few more e-mails since I last posted and it is all summarized here.  I will just let those of you who are interested in following go to the link and you can click if you want to be updated everytime the site is updated.  I was able to jog with Andrea yesterday and it was so nice to see her.  She is just blessed to have so many praying and they have really been flooded with support. The link is here

Another prayer request is for our friends Cris and Chuck.  I have mentioned them before and their process of adopting.  Well after only 3 months into the process they have a referral for 2 boys!!!  They have a lot to do in the next short while and a lot of funds to come up with mostly.  God has really made his blessing in this evident in so many awesome ways.  Seeing how they parent and how great their two girls are I am so thrilled for them and these two little boys who will be given a new start and OH SO much love!!  Please pray for them!  You can read their blog here and if you click on the pea pod to the right you can get the adoption updates.

Okay enough rambling for now.  Really sorry no pictures to keep you interested....hopefully soon.

Don't worry about the boys not being interested in decorating. They are still really young. Dallin is 6 and this is the first year that he has really been into all that part of Christmas. And because he was enthusiastic about it, so was Mandy. So just give them a couple more years and then they will really be into it!

Thanks for keeping us updated on Alex. It is such a heart wrenching story and we are praying for the very best for him and his family!
