June 13, 1998...11 Years of Marriage!! It is sometimes hard to believe. We have been through so much together and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for us. In our time of marriage we finished school (I still had 2 years of nursing school), had various jobs, interned with XA, basic training with the Army (I think he was gone a little over 5 months, deployment to Iraq (13 months), birth of our two boys, a move to TN....I think those are the highlights. Now that I type it out it doesn't sound like much but each event has been pivotal in our marriage. "in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer"....we have touched on a little of all of it. Many people told us before we got married that the first years would be the hardest, but I would have to disagree. I think those first couple years were smoother sailing. If you would have asked me then the deployment seemed like the end of the world, but it helped us grow stronger and we both learned from it and I definitely appreciated my time with him more. I would say the hardest years have been since children (we had 7 years of marriage behind us before Caden came along). Our boys are wonderful and such blessings but it does make the relationship between us harder to nurture. It takes such a commitment. I am very thankful though to have Jason to go through life with.
For many years we have been apart on our anniversary due to his National Guard commitment. This year we would have actually been able to be together and I ended up in FL visiting family with the boys. It is just how it had to fall, but I think Jason is enjoying his gift of free time and quiet:)
Happy Anniversary Jason!! I love you and cannot imagine life without you. I mean you have been in my life for half of it now (15 1/2 years if you count the time before marriage). Thank you for choosing me and making me your bride!
