Caden got a small bug catcher box with some tweezers and a net in the Easter Basket that he won. They ahd forgotten about it and found it yesterday and were so excited to catch something to put in it. Within minutes they had a caterpillar. I told them to get leaves and a stick to put in there so it could have something to climb on and eat. After daddy got home they were super excited to show him and wanted to find more critters for their box. Daddy decided to help them find some worms....there are some in our compost bin. This kept the boys very entertained!! When Caden was younger he wouldn't touch bugs or worms but now he just picks up the worms like it is nothing.
Funny conversation between Caden and I later while I was cooking dinner...
Caden: "Mommy do worms like water"
Me: " Well they like a little bit of water"
Caden: "But Caterpillars don't like water"
Me: " No they don't want a lot of water"
Caden: " Yeah, I gave the worms some water and the caterpillar is dead"
Very to the point with that discovery! He basically gave them a tidal wave of water. Guess that is how we learn but feel bad for the innocent little critters they find. Just please, oh please, let us not bring them inside or put them in our pockets for mommy to find!!

if they didn't put bugs in their pockets they wouldn't be boys.
