We have had our first Snow days of this winter. I must say it is a little easier the 3rd winter than it was our first winter here in TN! It helps that the cold doesn't feel "as" cold....even though it is still very cold!! It also helps that I am now dealing with a 5 yo and a 3yo instead of a 3 yo and a 1 yo.
The snow started on Sunday morning before we left for church. It continued all day but really didn't start sticking until that afternoon. We were able to go out for a little while before dark and the boys played. They weren't able to sled all that much that afternoon but they played and made snow angels.

The next morning Jason made it to work but schools were closed and I was advised to stay put at home. Blake started asking to go play in the snow at 7 am that morning. I did manage to hold him off until 10.....well actually we started getting dressed to go out at 9 BUT it took 45 minutes to get everyone ready to head out! At the time I questioned if it was really worth it and I told the boys they had to stay out longer than it had taken us to get ready to go out. I will admit my attitude wasn't the best. I do better if I make the choice to stay home vs. feeling like I "have" to stay home. We did make the best of the day and I will say my attitude improved. The sunshine helped....even if it was very cold! We have some kids that liver part of the weeks with their dad right down the road from us and they happened to be at their dads so that gave the boys someone to play with. They all had tons of fun sledding. There was enough ice and snow after the night to make it easier to sled. Blake wanted to make a snowman but the snow wouldn't stick. We stayed out for about an hour and a half and that was all we could handle.

Jason saw the next picture and asked if Blake had fallen down.....ummmm Nope! He just laid himself down and started eating the snow!! The things they get in mind to do....eating snow isn't so unusual but his method is what is funny!
I was very happy after lunch to be able to head out and go to the grocery store. The sun had been out and melted most of the ice on the roads so I should be okay. We got there and back without any trouble. I had hoped to do the grocery trip solo...but school being cancelled and another threat of icy weather for Wedn....I didn't have a choice. We all survived and it was nice to get out. The snow is a nice treat and I am very glad the boys get to experience it, but it doesn't have to stick around all winter!
