Whew!

Ok....so I am up to date through November with my posts.  I will try and get the latest Dec events posted soon (but not tonight).  I did have something that I just had to share tonight though that happened last night (it will not really fit into the Christmas posts I will be doing).  Plus, it has a story with it....

Wedn. night I usually go to the ladies bible study at church. However, it being 30 degrees already and me having to rush to get the boys fed and drag them out in the cold by myself didn't win out last night. (Jason heads to church from work because it is on his way home). We had a good evening turning boxes into to rocket ships.  I was cleaning the kitchen and on the phone and I hear Blake upstairs and he screams and is crying.  I knew it was hurt cry.  My first thought was Caden is right here so what on earth could he have gotten into that would hurt him like that (upstairs is really their area so it is child proof).  I turn and see him at the top of the stairs with a mouse trap hanging from his thumb!!!  I get off the phone and run to him!  I KNOW that had to hurt!!  He was hurting but also afraid he was in trouble.  He knew he wasn't supposed to go into the attic crawl space and he knew he wasn't to touch the traps.  He was just trying to come and show me that the "bait" was gone.  I calmed him down and looked at his finger and we washed his hands etc.  He kept saying "I shouldn't have gone up there without you!"  "Why did it think I was a mouse?"  Poor little guy!!  Everything worked out and he wasn't seriously hurt.  I will bet that he doesn't touch one again!!  Some lessons just have to be learned the hard way!

( YES THAT IS  A TOY MOUSE of Caden's...ha ha....my Father in law was the one who gave me the idea that I needed to post this incident.  I wasn't going to put it back on Blake's finger though to get a picture:) )

So also before you think "oh my, they have mice!" OR "How on earth did Blake get in the attic?"  Let me explain....Our house is on land that used to be farm land and there are barns around us.  During the winter the mice look for warm places to go.  I am SOOO thankful we haven't seen any "in" the house.  Last year we got some under the house and this year they seem to have gotten in the attic area.  The attic area that Blake got into is storage area off of our bonus room....it has a half door.  They know not to go in there but he was trying to be helpful!!  Again, all I can say is poor guy!!  He still said today that the trap thought he was a mouse :)
