Spooky! Halloween 2011

We had a weekend full of Halloween events.  Our plans changed slightly when Jason's work schedule had to change but it all worked out.  Jason wasn't going to be able to be here for Halloween night so I decided to skip the fall festival at our church because it is always very crowded and I didn't want to keep up with the boys by myself :)  It worked out that Blake's school was having a trunk or treat on Saturday night so we could go to that and Jason could do some of the fun Halloween things with them.  They loved it, but it was a little too cold for me that night!  I present to you Wolverine and Snake Eyes (GI Jo Ninja)!

The boys and I were invited to spend Halloween night with some friends.  They have never actually been trick or treating so I was excited for them and wondered how they would do.  They did great.  There were kids everywhere!!!  I cannot imagine how much candy these homes have to buy.  The boys had a great time and I loved it too because I got to spend time with some great friends as well:) It was a great night!

Before heading out for candy!

Caden had trouble seeing in the dark with his visor on so I ended up carrying that and by the end of the night I was also carrying a sword, some claws, and a bucket or two of candy :)

After trick or treating and enjoying a piece of candy....right before bed ;)

A local dentist was holding a candy buy back where they would pay the kids $1 for every pound of candy they brought in.  They were going to collect the candy and send it to soldiers over seas.  I wasn't going to do this but then after seeing all the candy we had in this house I decided we would.  Some of the candy was some we just had that I added to it.  Now before you think I am a bad mom and got rid of all the boys candy....believe me when I say they still have plenty!!  They ended up having 5 lbs that we sold and they each got $2.50 for there piggy banks.  They were happy with this and I was happy that 5 lbs isn't still in this house!!

Good idea by that dentist--I wish our dentist did that. We don't get many trick-or-treaters (we left our neighborhood to trick-or-treat) but I sent John out to buy a bag of candy just in case a few people came by, and I told him to be sure and buy some candy I wouldn't be tempted to eat. So he bought a large bag of hard candies and Bit O' Honeys. :-)
