Today is a day to honor all Veterans.....in my mind anyone who has served this country deserves to be honored. Whether they went over seas or stayed stateside, whether they served during peace time or war....the point is they were willing! Thank you!! Jason's family has many generations of servicemen....Jason, his brother, his dad, his granddad, his great granddad (I am sure others these are just the ones I know of and have pics of). In my family we have my brother and my granddad (I am sure there are others here too but like I said these are the ones I have pictures of).

There are so many great quotes on FB today to honor the Veterans and they are things we should always remember. ....
It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. Father Dennis E O'Brien USMC
Those who deserve our gratitude the most are those who never received their parade, or who were drafted involuntarily and still served honorably, or who have lost life or limb while engaged in the defense of freedom
A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. That is beyond honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.
Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. One of my favorite quotes. Remember though it is not about the rough men, but about those of us who get to sleep peacefully because of them.
Gold is good in it's place, but living, brave, patriotic men are better than gold. Abraham Lincoln

I love those first two pictures of Jason and his Granddad. How neat to have such two similar pictures from different generations.
I think it is wonderful to have such a heritage of serving one's country. I am so grateful for all of those that serve.
