My parents came up and spent the week before Christmas with us. It was so nice to have them here. We had some busy days of me doing some things for work and some very lazy days too. We missed having my brother here but we were glad to get to talk to him some.
Christmas Eve was a low key day. We cooked and had our Christmas dinner that night so that we wouldn't have to spend time on Christmas Day cooking.
My mom had gotten the boys some new pajamas that they wore on Christmas Eve. I am glad we thought to take some pictures of them then because to have gotten good ones Christmas morning would have been hard.
After their bath we took a few pictures and Blake was busy checking out the bottom of his socks
Caden sporting a mohawk:) So silly!
I just love this picture of the boys and they look like they just get along so good (they do a lot of the time but they are still brothers!).
The "loot" after "Santa" was busy working. I had things pretty organized this year in hopes to not have to stay up late doing it all. All the gifts were wrapped and seperated in the office. I knew we would have to set up the Geo Trak set that night after they were in bed but didn't think it would take that long. The Trak we already have but Jason likes to build it on Christmas Eve around the tree and put the gifts in the curves etc. After he had built it and set it up, it really looked too busy so he had to modify it and this was the final result....
We had one gift open and set up and any other "Santa" gifts are in red. The other gifts are from us and my parents too since they were with us on Christmas morning. I did learn one important lesson this year....make sure I know if the toys take batteries and make sure that I have that size!!! Caden's Criss Cross track from Santa needed batteries and I had planned to have it set up. Well we didn't have any D batteries. I tried taking some from flashlights but they didn't have enough power left in them for the track to work well. So at 11 on Christmas Eve my mom and I drove to a gas station to get them. Not ideal but you do what you have to do. I should mention too that when we had to go out it had already started snowing/sleeting so we had to drive pretty slow. It all worked out though and we had some happy little boys on Christmas morning!
Next years goal....have batteries and get to bed earlier!!!
