Stomping Grounds

I grew up at Lake Mystic.  I learned to swim in Lake Mystic.  So many memories there!  Some friends of ours from Tallahassee have a lake house there and they are always so great with letting us take the boys swimming there when we are home.  We took the boys there the day before we were going home last year and if I had known how much they would love it we would have been there so much more.  So this year I tried to take them more.  Caden immediately started jumping off the dock!  He is swimming so well!  He has had some fear issues with doing some things, thinking it could break his arm again.  So I was very glad he gave this a try.  Blake wasn't as sure about it.  In one video we made you can hear Blake saying, "He didn't break his arm, his leg, or anything", after Caden jumped.

I didn't want to push Blake too much.  Trying to remember that he is only 4.  However, I knew he had done it last year and loved it. I knew he would love it if he would just try.  The first hurdle to get over with Blake was showing him that he could swim in this water even though he couldn't see the bottom.  How did I do that??  Well I threw him in where he couldn't touch of course! Now, I was right there but I wanted him to know it is just like a swimming pool.  So then I resorted to bribery to get him to jump.... I know I should feel bad.  Well, it worked and he jumped!  He loved it!!  After he jumped about 4 times he came up and said "How many packs of gummies do I get??"

Unfortunately I didn't get a video of Blake jumping after he finally decided to do it.
