Saturday was a beautiful day and so good for my spirits. I started the day with the challenge of a two hour spin class at the gym and I survived it. When I got home we decided to go to a park called Winstead Hill which is a Civil War Battle sight in Franklin. The boys were so glad to be out of the house. We walked around some and ventured off the paved trail a little ways (a more primitive trail). Well, Caden was following Jason and tripped over a little log and landed on a cactus. I saw it happen and only thought his hand hit it. I pulled the tiny little hair like thorns out of his hand but he continued to cry. We then looked and saw they were in his jeans so we pulled those out. Jason ended up carrying him back down and the whole way he cried. When we got to the car we changed his pants and discovered they were all in his knee and ankle. So we had to carefully pull them out and really needed some tweezers. Once they were all out he was good as new. However, all weekend he has told everyone about his incident. He will say "you know what?" and then look at me and say "mommy what was that thing called?", "yeah the cactus". This video was of him recounting the story and his final summary he concluded all on his own....pretty smart boy:)
Another funny quote from our time at the park....We were on another trail and saw an older couple who appeared to be doing some geocaching (using a GPS to find a hidden box, place, etc). Caden asked the man if he was looking for a "treasure" (he was speaking from experience because that is what Jason calls it). The man smiled and said he was. Then Caden just looked at him and said "Are you a grandaddy?" Pretty observant...but I am glad he was one or it could have been insulting.

Ouch! Cactus needles really do hurt. His little recount of the story was so cute :)
