Neighborhood

I am learning a lot about being in a neighborhood (even if it is small). I am learning that I don't know how I would have felt about a larger one. In some ways I see advantages and in other ways it could be a pain. Down our road there are 4 houses and 3 of the four have children. Emma and Lilly who I keep in the afternoons are 10 and 7 and Allie is our newest neighbor and she is 2. Thursday and Friday afternoon I of course had the older girls after school but also ended up with Allie (and luckily her mom) over playing also. Today we were outside and Allie sees the boys and says "I'm coming" and Caden is waving and calling for her to come play. Then Emma and Lilly and there cousin get home and they come over also. So in our backyard we had the whole "neighborhood" of kids at our house. It did take a lot off of me from the entertainment standpoint. I am glad they have kids to play with and they had so much fun. It is just an adjustment for me because I didn't grow up in that environment and in Tallahassee our neighborhood didn't have any children around us. Emma and Lilly will move soon (there house has been for sale) and Jason says he hopes they have at least one boy for our boys to play with:) I do hope they have kids and that it will be someone we can get along with. So far I think God really helped us when we chose our new home.

I think its great that the neighborhood kids choose to hang out at your house. I think its better that way than having to worry about watching your children at someone else's house.

I would much rather have them all over here too I think than having to be at someone elses house like you said....the boys love it

i hope you learn to love it! i think you will even more when your own kids are a little bigger. some of my favorite times were living in our wesley chapel home and we had lots of kids 7 across the street and 1 next door (and more further down the street). during the summer the kids would play for hours...til it got dark. there were always some fights to break up, but overall wonderful times, for them & us! :)
