Stone Mountain Day #1

Two years ago we went to Stone Mountain over Memorial Day weekend and the boys had a lot of fun.  We really wanted to do it again and this year we were able to.  Stone Mountain had a special for active and retired military and veterans got in free and the family members tickets were discounted.

We got to Atlanta on Sunday evening and our plan was to watch the Laser/Fireworks show that night so that after spending all day on Monday at the park we wouldn't have to wait around so late for it to start. I am glad that we did that, BUT man was it crowded when we got there.  Next time we will definitely get there earlier!!

You see all the people and this picture doesn't even do it justice.  We had one BIG scare where we lost Blake.  Blake was with Jason and Papa and they could see me and Caden and Mimi.  Jason sent Blake ahead to us but I don't know that Blake had really seen us and we turned and in the crowd of people he lost us. A moment later Jason realizes and heads off to find him.... so glad Blake just stopped right where he was and stood by the light pole. Not a good feeling at all!!!  Poor Blake was starting to cry and daddy was scared too!!

Before we went to Atlanta i was glad I thought to pick up some glow sticks at the dollar tree.  They sale all of these light up things there and they are so expensive and then they break as soon as you get them.  It didn't totally satisfy the boys but it did help enough to where I will do that again!

I just LOVE the show!  It leaves you with so much pride for our country and our freedom.  I love all the music they play.

I absolutely cannot believe Blake fell asleep before the fireworks were over.  He slept through the loudest part of them!!  He never falls asleep with me holding him or if he is watching something.

It was a late night but worth it.....now to the hotel to rest up for a fun day playing at Stone Mountain!!
