Camping and more

When Caden was 15 months old we took him camping and even though it went okay we haven't been back since.  I say it went okay, but not without a story.  It ended up being unusually cold that night and he didn't understand the need to stay by a fire....we went on a hike and he got so cold in the backpack he cried and cried....we called my mom to come and get him for the second night.  Needless to say we just haven't tried it again. 

We have some friends here that wanted to go so we planned the trip and went....SUCCESS!  It is a lot of work though I will say.  The boys did great and all the kids played and helped entertain each other.  I am sure the campers next to us were probably wishing we had chosen another site when they saw 5 kids under the age of 5.  I have learned that not many people tent camp these days....we were only one of two tent sites out of 75-100 all with RVs or some sort of pop up.  The weather was great and we enjoyed just hanging out and playing on the playground.  We went on a small walk and played in the creek.  Now that we see it can be done, we look forward to future trips.  I think we will keep doing it with others for a while though because it did make things a little easier.  You can view the shutterfly site and see all the pictures from our camping trip.
