Priceless

Realized this Mother's day how special a handmade gift from your little boy can be....I am so proud and touched by it.  A treasure!!  I knew that Caden had been working on a Mother's day project at school but he did a great job keeping the details a secret.  I didn't empty his backpack on Friday because I knew it was in there and didn't want to ruin it for him. So on Sunday I asked him if there was something in his bag for me.  He got this look on his face and pulled out a hard back book he had made.  The look on his face was one of pride in what he had done and anticipation to see if I would like it.
I LOVE IT!!!  It brought tears to my eyes and is now on the mantel.  I hope you don't mind me sharing some of it with you.  The cover is his handprint and finger prints and throughout the book are different drawings of his and special poems for moms.  My favorite page is the "interview" they did of how well he knew me.....precious.  I cracked up at the idea of  McDonald's being the place I would go if I could go anywhere in the world.  I am really not sure why he thinks I watch a lot of movies either....not even sure what the last movie I watched was:)

A picture of me.

This was a great Mother's day!  I did wake up in a tent, but Jason had hot chocolate waiting for me when I came out to the fire.  We did have to pack up camp and load the car and unpack the car and deal with very tired little boys....but I am very blessed to have these little boys to love on and to help me grow and learn more about myself and how I need to love them better.  I wouldn't trade it for anything!! (even though some days I may sound like I would)

I also cannot let this post end without giving credit to the best mom ever....my mom!  She has taught me so much in my life and is a great example of the mom I would like to be.  She says I don't remember the yelling or bad times....which maybe I don't but I do remember the unconditional love and support!  I am so glad to have a mom and a friend all in one!!!  Love you mom!
