Big Boy

I got pretty behind in my posts and pictures so the next few posts are out of order but all of importance in some way.

Some big news in our home is that Blake potty trained!!!  He actually did it fairly easy too.  The biggest thing to work on now is teaching him that he cannot just pull it out and pee wherever he is.  The thing that has surprised me is that he stayed dry all through the night for the first week or so and still does most nights. With this even we decided that we better convert his crib into a toddler bed.  I wasn't looking forward to this because he goes to bed so well and has never tried to climb out.  Luckily the transition has been fairly easy and he still calls for us to get him.  I will say it is much easier to lift this "big" boy in and out of the toddler bed than it was over that rail.

I also must brag on Caden....he is sleeping all night in big boy underwear as well and staying dry.  I think this delay was partly due to me thinking he wasn't ready because he always woke up wet.  However, I believe now that he knew he was wetting and did it mostly before he would fall asleep and after he was waking up in the mornings.  Regardless, I am very proud of both of the boys!

This has been a little strange for me.  I have been changing diapers for almost 5 years now.  I removed the changing pad from Blake's dresser in his room (even though he has been too large to really use it for some time) and we no longer have a crib.  Let's face it...I don't have any babies.  I almost found myself getting sad and considering changing this fact.  Before you start jumping to conclusions there aren't any announcements and no decisions have been made.  Many many days I feel I am failing the two I have so for now we will keep practicing with them and seeing if we can keep them somewhat normal.  Pictures are in the May Album.

Wow! That must be amazing not to have to change diapers anymore! I am sincerely looking forward to that day :) Hopefully it won't be too much longer!

I know what you mean about being sad at not having a little baby anymore. Layton is starting to leave that little baby stage too and it really does make me very sad. I'm going to miss it when he really isn't a baby anymore!
