Mini Vacation

Memorial day weekend we were able to take a quick trip to Atlanta and visit Stone Mountain.  Jason's mom has been working in Atlanta for over a month now and we took the trip to see her and spend Memorial day at the park.  It was a great trip!!  This was the first time for Blake and Caden's second time but he was only about 1 1/2 the first time we went.  This time we had all day and were able to do and see most parts of the park.  One day I hope to do the hike to the top but not if we are going to have to carry the boys so this time we just rode the sky trolly up.  The boys loved that and the train ride around.  Neither of them had naps that day but they were very good. They now have a high ropes course and Caden was very disappointed that he was 2 inches too short.  We took shifts so the adults could do it and I tell you when I got up there walking on a rope many many feet in the air I wondered what I had gotten myself into.  I am not fond of heights and I like my footing to be solid and sure!  We keep telling Caden if he eats then next year he should be tall enough.    We all slept well that night! For all the pictures from the weekend you can look here

The laser light show and fireworks are definitely the highlight for me and is always so moving to me.  I love how they put the words of the songs to life with pictures and the fireworks and patriotic music is amazing.  What  perfect way to spend Memorial day remembering those that have served and lost their lives for our freedoms.  I am very proud to be an American!!

Thank you Mimi for sharing your day with us!!
