Good times!

Yesterday morning I was busy trying to get things ready for a play date at the pool and this is what the boys were busy doing. I have a bit of OCD that having children has really done a number on, but I have come a VERY long way. I didn't even clean this up last night or make them do it and it resulted in even more play time today....of course we had to add more toys to the pile. So if you come visit me (yeah right....we don't get many unexpected visitors) the front door will not be easily accessible :) I hope I don't eat my words but this week has been pretty good so far. The boys have played well together more than picking at each other (they wouldn't be breathing if some picking didn't occur). We had a great play date at the pool followed by good naps. Today we went to the park and they played hard and had more good naps. Now don't ask me tomorrow... I may be ready to run away again:)

There are toys all under the blanket and we did end up with two blankets due to lack of sharing. It is funny to me how much they are tattling. Blake has mastered it early...."mommy 'Taden' hit me" and Caden will tell me that Blake has done something and then proceed to tell me that he needs a spanking or to go to time out. They are having to learn to work through some it on their own. Oh the joys!

In case any of you are interested in how the supper time boot camp is going. We are sticking with it. Tonight was a hamburger casserole dish. Caden saw me browning the meat and asked what I was doing. He asked if this was my dinner or his dinner. I said it was "our" dinner. He placed his order for a grilled cheese. I told him no and that he could eat what I was cooking. He then told me that he didn't really want a brownie. He thinks this will get him out of eating it. No longer is the rule you get the treat if you try it....even if you don't want the treat you are still going to at least try it. We still have a lot of negotiating and some gagging, BUT we have tried a lot of new things. None of which has he admitted to liking.

Way to go on the dinner boot camp--I meant to post on the last one, but sounds like you found your own solution. Will goes back and forth--sometimes he eats great, sometimes he doesn't. I just feed him what we're eating and try not to worry if he just picks--I haven't seen any picky preschoolers starve themselves. Our problem is that we're rewarding him so much for toilet-training that about half of his diet right now consists of gummy fruit snacks. :-)
