Party Time!

We celebrated Caden's 4th Birthday on Saturday with family and friends. We could not have asked for better weather! Both sets of grandparents were able to be in town which we are very thankful for and we had new friends we could have over for cake and ice cream. This is really the first birthday party where Caden truly understood and it was so fun to watch him. We kept it as simple as I could with just a few friends (I could have invited more) and free play time in the back yard and chips, cake, and homemade ice cream! The cake was made by a lady here local who I am sure I will use again. I was very spoiled by my friend Becky in FL who has made many cakes for my boys and for baby showers for me ( miss you!!) This lady does a great job though and I like that I can have a more personal touch to the cake without having to just pick from a book.



Many have asked if I made it or suggested I should make it....there is no way I am ready to take that on just yet. I wish I could and I wish I had the time or energy. For now I will settle to let someone else do it for me. Caden loved it and loves his new toy red jet that was on the cake.

Caden got to open his gift from Ome a little early since he and Blake were getting the same thing. Not to mention it didn't hurt spreading out the new toys so it wasn't all at once. They both got a huge car carrier semi truck. It is really cool. He also got a new bike from Mimi and Papa and he is doing so good riding it. I will try and post a video clip sometime. He informed us tonight that he doesn't want to take any wheels off of it....he needs all 4! We haven't given him his present from us yet since his birthday is actually Monday.





It was a great day for Caden and he had a lot of fun! I cannot believe he is 4 already! Is it normal for all moms to get sentimental on the birthdays or does it diminish with time? I am so thankful for the family that could be here and the friends that shared in the day with us....this time last year we didn't have anyone local we could have invited. Happy Birthday Caden!!
