Marbles

We are trying a new concept with Caden and I am really not sure how it is going to work. Not sure that he gets it just yet. We sat him down and explained that he would earn marbles if he was good....if he went potty in the potty and not in his pants, if he ate his food, if he listened to mommy, etc. We would place the marbles in the glass vase and when the vase was full he would earn a prize. We let him help count the marbles he earns and put them in the vase. This time we have the toy sitting by the vase so he knows what he is trying to earn. The downside he sometimes wants to sit there and "wait" for the vase to fill up. I think it is going to take some time to catch on, but I had to try something. This picture is from us talking about the marbles and adding to the vase.

Ohh discipline at this age is "interesting" isn't it?! I feel like we are always re-evaluating and trying new things. It seems like nothing phases Elise! Good idea about the marbles. We just instituted a bedtime chart w/ stickers and treat b/c a certain someone was not staying in bed when she was supposed to! Some days it really works other days it's like she doesn't care a bit that she won't get the treat. Ahh, the joys of parenthood - always questioning if we're doing the right thing! :)

You'll have to be sure to post how well this works out. If it seems to work really well, I might just have to steal your idea and try it out with my kids!
