To be honest I had decided I wasn't going to color eggs with the boys. I figured Caden would enjoy it but it would be a lot of trouble keeping Blake from making a HUGE mess. The moment got the better of me and I remembered an egg coloring set Ome got last year after Easter on sale for Caden. So after Blake was in bed we helped Caden color eggs. He didn't really understand that you couldn't drop the eggs so we colored some cracked ones (but they colored and tasted just as well). With this came a lesson on eggs and I tried to get him to taste one....no success.
I think we all enjoyed coloring the eggs. I used to love this as a child and I loved hunting them too...maybe that is why I so enjoy watching the boys do it. I have a lot of memories of Easter and all of my cousins and family. I tried not to think about what we may be missing being away from "home". All in all we had a great Easter (that I will share in another post). Here are our final eggs.
With my lesson in eggs, I wanted to show Caden the difference between a cooked one and a raw one. I had to make brownies for the next day so I let him help me. This way he got to see the difference.

You are such a good mom. Great job exposing those boys to so many different activities.
I wasn't brave enough to color eggs with my kids. I let them go over to their Nana's house to color them :) Looks like you guys had a lot of fun for Easter!
