We spent the rest of the weekend in NC with the boys and my parents after our hike. We took the boys to see some waterfalls and tried a hike with them. Caden did pretty good at first but once he sees Blake getting carried he wants to be carried. Poor daddy had to carry both of them at one point. We will have to keep practicing this and hopefully we can condition them to like it. The river at the cabin was up most of the time (it is dam controlled) but luckily on Sunday it was down all day. The boys were able to get down there and walk a little and look for rocks. Caden finds beauty in so many rocks....to us it is just a rock but to him it is "special". The water is VERY cold so it takes getting used to. I hope this summer we can visit and they can play even more down there. Our trip home on Monday wasn't bad but it is just always long. We probably make it worse because we plan for longer stops instead of just trying to push through. We stopped at a paved trail and the foot of the Smokey Mtn State Park and let the boys run and play in the creek there. It was a great diversion for all of us. Fall used to always be my favorite time of year but I am liking the spring here in TN and NC.
