He is Risen!

All the posts now with the "secular" traditions of Easter, I cannot fail to mention how awesome it is that our Saviour conquered death!! Because of Him "Sin has lost it's power, death has lost it's sting. From the grave you've risen VICTORIOUSLY!"

It has been a while since I posted on our church status. We decided to stick with a church that was a good 30 minutes from our house but it is where we felt we should be for now. Jason and I both agree that this is probably not where we will be for the long haul here but it is serving some purpose. We had gotten very weary from searching. We really liked the children's program (and still do). It is so great to hear Caden tell his version of Easter. He told us that Jesus "fell" on the cross and died and they put him in a cave and then he wasn't dead anymore. I told him that is why we are so happy because Jesus isn't dead anymore!! It took us coming here several weeks in a row before Caden would start participating in the lesson and craft. So for his sake we needed some consistency. Our next goal here was to get plugged into a small group. Well our "group" is very small....us and one other family who had actually been at the church the same amount of time if not less than us. I am very thankful for God putting this family in our lives and I know it is for a great purpose. As much as I would like to have several families from the church to get to know....God knew what he was doing. I also just completed a 6 week bible study through the church and enjoyed it. However, no relationships really came from it. It has just become even clearer to me that this isn't an easy church to connect with the people (the "community" or "family" fell I hoped for isn't there). I am not putting blame anywhere... it could be just as much a flaw in me or an insecurity. Maybe it would be different if we lived in that area. But, all that to say the search will probably begin again. For now I am just enjoying the sermons and music. The sermon the pastor did for Sunday was really good and put things in a way I really had never paid much attention to. Please just pray that God will direct us and help us find our place.

Praying with you my friend. I can understand your thoughts too well. Finding a church family is one of the hardest parts of moving.

I am grateful that God allowed our paths to cross. What a blessing.
