On Saturday our plan was to go spend the day with some great friends that were camping. We started watching the weather on Friday and there were high chances of rain for Saturday so we were just going to make our decision on Saturday morning. We didn't want to drive 2 hours one way and it be raining and too cold for the kids to play in the water, etc etc etc. So Saturday morning we debated and debated because it was raining there that morning but there was a small window that rain wasn't forcasted for. We opted not to chance it but had to do something fun since we were bummed......so off to the Zoo we went. We haven't been to the zoo yet and I have heard about it and many friends have annual passes. I have heard it was worth it just for the playground....
I would probably agree! The playground is HUGE and awesome. I think the boys enjoyed it more than seeing the animals. The above pic is of Blake and I checking out the snakes mouth. He wouldn't go in it....it was a tunnel and he was too scared to go through:) He did end up doing it with Caden and realized it "wasn't so bad"!
I think they were looking at the Elephants here! It was pretty warm but ot unbearable. The humidity is lower now and there is a nice breeze so it really turned into a nice day....and no it didn't rain anymore where our friends were camping either. BUT we made the best of our day and couldn't second guess it!
I could watch the Meercats (sp?) for hours. They are cute! They really are fun to watch and much like kids you just wish you could figure out what they are thinking!
Right before we left Caden decided to get in the water spout and cool off....He was so hot from running on the playground! They loved this and it was a perfect way to cool them off for what we hoped would be a quiet ride home with two sleeping boys:) Blake was a little more hesitant to let the spout hit him but he did end up getting wet.
SUCCESS!! Two sleeping boys worn out from the Zoo! It was a quiet ride home where Jason and I were able to have some good conversations.
Note Buzz Light Year....this is Blake's favorite toy of the week. We just recently saw Toy Story 1 and he picked this toy out with some birthday money he had left. He has taken Buzz on many adventures lately...that is a different post though:)
