Preschool 2010

The story of my life...behind!  I am behind in posts but instead of waiting to catch up I figured I would go ahead and post pictures from today.  A big day!  A happy day! and I wouldn't be a good mommy if I didn't say a little bit of a sad day! :)

The boys started a new preschool today!  Finally...I say that because all other school and preschools have already started around here....some have been in for weeks!  We talked all morning about being brave and standing tall and walking into our class without hiding behind mommy and no whimpering!  I will say I was impressed and a little shocked! Blake walked in, hung his backpack, found Rocket, and didn't look back!  Caden missed his open house so I did go in with him to show him his backpack hook and found his seat and got him settled.  He said good bye with a hug and kiss and no clinging!!

Caden...the big 5 year old!  He is in the Pre-K class and is going 2 days a week right now but they hope to add Friday's next month.  His days will be full!  They have chapel, music, PE, circle time, etc etc etc. Caden went to a Mother's day out type program when he was two and we lived in FL.  When we moved he was home with me every day and then last year he also went to a preschool 3 days a week.  This wasn't really new to him but it is a new school.  He was looking forward to it but just doesn't really show his excitement!  Just to get him to look halfway amused in the above picture took some stern talking:)

Blake....3 years old!! This is a brand new experience for Blake.  He has never gone to a preschool or mother's day out so he felt like a big boy to be able to go!  His class seems like it will be a lot of fun too.  He will also have music, chapel, PE, learning centers, cirlce time, etc etc.  He will only go 2 days a week all year. Blake was excited and didn't mind showing it....he just kept saying "cheese" every time I took a picture!

I am excited about all the school seems to offer.  I also like that this morning at the parent oreintation I recognized several moms that I didn't realize would be there.  That is very cool for me because last year we went the whole year without me really knowing any of Caden's classmates or their families.  I don't know many that are in Caden's class but actually know 3 of the ones in Blake's.  The school does a lot of things to keep the parents connected and involved.  They offer many "field trips" where they actually bring it to the school but some great experiences....fire trucks, baby cows, police, hatching chicks, etc etc!

I hope to have lots of good things to report throughout the year!  Today was a success!

And just in case you are wondering, because many have asked...I did enjoy my day.  I do miss them and it is a little different not to have at least one of them home with me!  I hope to get into a good routine of productivity on these days.  I am also waiting on my TN license to arrive and I will possibly start working one night a week which would mean I would be sleeping one of the days they are in school.  SOOO today I enjoyed! (kind of)...I ran errands without having to buckle and unbuckle boys and repeat over and over..."come on, get in the car, you need to listen, etc".  I did get to enjoy lunch with two friends and got to meet some new ladies at lunch as well.  All in all I think we all had a good day!

Sounds wonderful!!! Glad they did so well and glad you had a good day to yourself. I have to admit - I am completely looking forward to one day having all three of mine in school!

i know you are enjoying your time alone. i tried to trade and send the baby to preschool and keep the big boy at home, but they wouldn't take a 2 year old :) good luck with work!
